About your Job:

The VP Technical Supply Chain is responsible for planning, procurement, storage and supply of approved aircraft parts, components, material and equipment to support the scheduled and un-scheduled aircraft maintenance activities of Qatar Airways and all third party customers. The role is responsible for the negotiations and preparation of all contracts concerning material purchase, component maintenance and the management of the repair cycle and the availability of the serviceable units. In addition, it is responsible for ensuring that all logistical activities are correctly certified and that all records are retained and stored safely for the designated statutory period.

The specific responsibilities of the role include:
ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Strategic Formulation

·         Manages the maintenance and ongoing development of an efficient and cost effective supply chain. Ensures the correct and efficient planning, purchasing and storage of approval aircraft parts and material.
·         Develops and manages the material supply chain organization as per QCAA/ EASA Part-145 and all the other relevant statutory requirements.
·         Develops and maintains the quality and training standards in coordination with the VP Technical Quality Assurance and Technical Training.
·         Plans, controls and administers the Supply Chain function budget.

Operational efficiency

·         Manages all logistics requirements comprising good received, storage requirements, distribution of incoming and outgoing material, packing and shipping.
·         Manages the procurement of all approved aircraft parts, components, material and equipment to support the maintenance of aircraft and/or components.
·         Oversees the management of the storage, supply and distribution of all approved aircraft parts, components, material and equipment to support all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance.
·         Ensures that all relevant airworthiness documents and certifications are received and processed in accordance with all QCAA/EASA statutory regulations.
·         Participates and leads in purchasing projects and the definition of the purchasing policy for Qatar Airways Technical.
·         Ensures that all logistics practices and procedures are established in compliance with QCAR/EASA Part 145 requirements and for establishing a quality system within supply chain to ensure that all logistical activities are accomplished to the highest standards.
·         Oversees the negotiations and preparation of contracts concerning material purchase or component maintenance.
·         Oversees the repair cycle which include the logistics of label booking, repair order administration and forwarding for repair and/or overhaul, the logistics of the subsequent return, storage and availability of all serviceable units.

Management and Leadership

·         Establishes the Department and team’s objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
·         Develop and encourage continued improvement of service standards amongst all direct and indirect reports through coaching, development and training.

About you:

You hold a Relevant College or University qualification with degree or equivalent in Logistics/ Aeronautical/ Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering. You have excellent knowledge of aircraft/ engine/ avionic components and materials. You have a minimum of 10 years of job related experience gained in  a logistics and supply chain environment. You have a strong understanding of what is required to manage, plan, and develop a cost effective and efficient aircraft logistics organization with the overall financial accountability. You have good knowledge of operational excellence, quality, health and safety and technical issues within the realm of Supply Chain and Logistics.
You have strong business acumen and able to challenge others to manage change creatively, implement new approaches and encourage continuous improvement within your area of responsibilities. You demonstrate commercial skills and well-rounded broad business knowledge with focus on team leadership and operational ability. You have strong conceptual thinking and innovation with proven track record of generating new ideas and concepts. You are able to perform and work in high pressure and technically complex situations in a 24/7 business and be able to make critical sound decisions as required.
